Holistic

Teaching and learning cultivate the whole child by embracing the IB Learner Profile attributes, essential skills (the ATLs) and a focus on developing globally-minded citizens. Extracurricular activities and Social-Emotional Learning are key elements that support the academic program.

Rigorous

Rigorous expectations for learning are established through use of the New Brunswick curriculum standards. Learning is enhanced by the world-class IB framework, creating a challenging and comprehensive academic pathway for students that prepares them for top universities and life beyond.

Innovative

Learning is at the cutting edge. Technology enhances the learning process. Students are encouraged to develop the skills to harness technology effectively. Creativity is a key component of learning.

Collaborative

Our classrooms are designed for group interactions, paired learning, and open discussions. These guided interactions between students foster important social skills and enhance the learning experience.

Multicultural

We celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our students and cultivate respect for all cultures, creating an inclusive and culturally rich environment. Our learning environment is multilingual, and students are encouraged to learn more than one language.

Authentically Assessed

Learning is assessed through diverse methods including projects, presentations, hands-on activities, quizzes, formal tests, standardized external assessments, and reflective processes. Assessment is fair, measures what has been taught and informs the learning process.

Reflective

Students take the time to consider how they learn. Students are empowered to set goals and evaluate their own abilities and progress.

Inquiry-Based

Learning is student-centered. Students are actively engaged in the learning process. Students are encouraged to explore and inquire, empowering them to take ownership of their learning journey. Learning is engaging and meaningful.

Differentiated

Students are given choice in their learning. Key factors in learning such as the environment, presentation, content, level of challenge and method of assessment are often tailored to meet the needs of each individual child.
