CISH External Diagnostic Assessments

New Brunswick Provincial Assessments

CISH is a private school that uses Canadian Curriculum (Province of New Brunswick) within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.  In order to meet the Canadian Accreditation requirements, CISH students will take part in the New Brunswick Provincial Assessments.  The grade levels where these assessments are given may vary from year to year. 

 

Reading English and, Math and Scientific Literacies:

Grades 4, 6, 10 are scheduled to take these assessments in May of every year.

Data obtained from these assessments provide information on trends in the district, and provincial achievement in literacy.

 

English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA):

All students in Grade 9 will take this assessment unless exempt.

All students who were unsuccessful on the Grade 9 assessment must retake the assessment in Grade 11 or 12, unless exempt.

(Success on this assessment is a NB provincial graduation requirement and needed for a Canadian Graduation Diploma)

 

Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth Assessments in Math and English

Students in Grades 3-10 take this assessment in the Fall of every year. The MAP assessments are used world-wide and provide teachers with valuable data that compares students’ progress across the year and with millions of other students from around the world.
