At CISH Middle School, we recognize that transition is a significant stage for students. To support them, we provide a strong framework of care and guidance:

  • Homeroom teachers continue to serve as point of contacts each morning.

  • Pastoral care and counseling services ensure that students’ emotional and social needs are met, particularly as they face the challenges of early adolescence. Students also receive support in navigating their schedules, using the school’s digital resources, and managing the new responsibilities that come with transitioning to Middle School.

  • Collaborative communication among teachers helps us monitor each student’s progress and provide consistent academic and personal support.

  • Skill development in ATL (Approaches to Learning) is emphasized, equipping students with organization, self-management, and reflection tools to succeed in this new phase.

Global Contexts

Global Contexts

Each unit of inquiry within each class has a Global Context. The Global Contexts provide students with an opportunity to see the “why” behind their learning; students are able to see the relevance and importance of their learning in terms of the real world.

The MYP Global Contexts are:

• Scientific & Technical Innovation

• Orientation in Space & Time

• Personal & Cultural Expression

• Identities & Relationships

• Globalization & Sustainability

• Fairness & Development

At CISH, we put a significant emphasis on educating the whole child. As such, MYP and DP students are presented with a variety of opportunities both locally and globally that allow them to develop as internationally minded and compassionate young people.

MYP Personal Project

MYP Personal Project

The MYP Personal Project at CISH is a capstone experience for students in the final year of the Middle Years Programme, embodying a significant period of personal inquiry into an area of individual interest. This project is structured around concept-driven learning, allowing students to explore their passions while connecting to global contexts. Throughout the project, students engage in weekly Personal Project sessions, guided by our dedicated Personal Project and MYP Coordinator. These sessions are enriched with additional EAL support to ensure all students can fully express their ideas and engage with the project content effectively. To further enhance their Personal Project journey, each student is paired with a supervisor who provides tailored guidance and support. These monthly meetings between students and supervisors are instrumental in helping students refine their ideas, address challenges, and stay aligned with their project goals. This structured support network ensures that every student not only completes their project but also gains a deeper understanding of the learning process and develops skills that are crucial for lifelong learning. Through the Personal Project, CISH students demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research, think critically, and present their findings in a coherent and reflective manner.
